JOB DESCRIPTION
The Instrumentation Engineering Technologist is required to perform meter verification and welfare checks throughout Calgary and surrounding municipalities.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assist with installation, test, calibration, and maintenance of valves, switches and measurement devices.
- Perform preventative maintenance on instrumentation equipment to ensure reliable operation.
- Inspect and repair vales, switches and measurement devices according to manufacturers’ specifications.
- Install stainless steel tubing for chemical pump injection lines.
- Develop an understanding of process in oilfield gas plants, oil batteries and wellsites.
- Work with a variety of pneumatic, electrical and electronic testing instruments to measure and control variables such as pressure, flow, temperature level, composition
- Assist in the installation and termination of instrument tubing.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, calibration reports, and work orders
- Test accuracy of flow meters, pressure gages, temperature indicators, controllers, and other recording, indicating, or controlling instruments.
- Read and interpret P&ID’s and electrical drawings.
- Support general maintenance activities within the instrumentation department as required.
Qualifications:
- Instrumentation Engineering Technologist Certificate or
- Journeyman Instrument Technician Certificate or
- 3rd or 4th year Instrumentation Technician enrolled in the Alberta Apprenticeship Program
- Extensive experience in instrumentation maintenance.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
- Must have valid First Aid, H2S, Fall Protection, Aerial Work Platform
- CSTS, PST and/or CSO
- Must have own tools
- Must have experience in the Oil & Gas industry
- Canadian citizen or permanent resident requirement
- Valid driver's license with a clean record

Work Environment & Physical Demands:
- Work may occur in industrial plants, construction sites, and maintenance shops.
- Exposure to outdoor environments, heights, confined spaces, and industrial noise.
- May require shift work, overtime, and travel to remote energy sites within Alberta.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks.
- May require extended hours and on-call availability during peak operations.
- Vehicle and Equipment will be provided for business
- Monday through Friday throughout Calgary and surrounding areas
