Our busy ophthalmology clinic is looking for a friendly, organized, and motivated Medical Office Assistant to join our team. As the first point of contact for our patients, you'll help create a welcoming and positive experience while supporting our physicians and clinical staff in delivering exceptional eye care.

What You'll Do
- Welcome patients and visitors with warmth, professionalism, and compassion.
- Manage patient check-in and check-out while ensuring a smooth patient flow throughout the clinic.
- Schedule and coordinate appointments using our electronic medical record (EMR) system.
- Answer and direct incoming calls using a multi-line phone system.
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient records in accordance with privacy legislation.
- Prepare patient charts and documentation for physician clinics.
- Process referrals, correspondence, scanning, filing, and other administrative duties.
- Work closely with physicians, technicians, and fellow team members to ensure efficient daily clinic operations.
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming reception area.
- Provide exceptional customer service while assisting patients with questions and navigating their appointments.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who enjoys working with people, takes pride in staying organized, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous experience in administration, reception, customer service, or a medical office setting is considered an asset, but is not required.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a professional, patient-centered approach.
- Excellent organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
- The ability to multitask, prioritize, and adapt in a busy clinical environment.
- Confidence using computers and learning new software.
- Experience with electronic medical records (EMRs), including Accuro, is considered an asset.
- Familiarity with medical terminology is an asset but not required.
- Experience using a multi-line phone system is an asset.
- A positive attitude, reliability, professionalism, and a willingness to learn.
- The ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
