Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dependable Flatbed Truck Driver to join our logistics team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely transporting freight across various routes while ensuring timely deliveries. This role requires a strong focus on safety, vehicle maintenance, and efficient freight handling. Candidates with experience in commercial driving, heavy equipment operation, and automotive repair are highly valued. Responsibilities
- Safely operate flatbed trucks to transport freight to designated locations
- Secure loads properly using straps, chains, and other equipment to prevent shifting during transit
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance with regulations
- Load and unload freight using forklifts or other heavy equipment as needed
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and logs in accordance with company policies
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery schedules and any issues encountered during transit
- Perform basic automotive repairs or troubleshooting when necessary to ensure vehicle reliability
- Adhere to all federal, state, and local transportation laws and safety regulations
Requirements
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for flatbed hauling
- Experience in freight transportation, commercial driving, or related fields preferred
- Ability to operate heavy equipment such as forklifts safely and efficiently
- Knowledge of automotive repair basics for vehicle troubleshooting and maintenance
- Strong understanding of safety protocols related to freight handling and transportation
- Physical ability to load, unload, and secure freight; capable of lifting heavy loads when required
- Prior experience with heavy equipment operation is a plus
