Overview
We are seeking a motivated and dedicated Apprentice Carpenter to join our construction team. This entry-level position offers hands-on experience in various carpentry and construction tasks, providing a valuable foundation for a career in the trades. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong work ethic, eagerness to learn, and an interest in building and renovation projects. This role involves working on diverse projects such as restoration, siding, concrete forming, and more, under the supervision of experienced carpenters.
Responsibilities
- Assist with reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and construction plans to support project execution.
- Learn and perform concrete forming, finishing, and related tasks with guidance from senior team members.
- Support framing, siding installation, and other carpentry duties using hand tools and power tools.
- Participate in woodworking activities including cutting, shaping, and assembling materials.
- Operate heavy equipment safely when required for specific tasks such as lifting or moving heavy materials.
- Assist with concrete finishing and restoration projects to ensure quality workmanship.
- Follow safety protocols at all times to maintain a safe work environment for yourself and others.
- Perform heavy lifting and physically demanding tasks as needed on various job sites.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to promote efficiency and safety.
Requirements
- Basic knowledge of construction principles; prior experience with carpentry or related trades is a plus but not required.
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and woodworking techniques preferred.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, or technical drawings is advantageous.
- Willingness to learn concrete forming, finishing, welding, heavy equipment operation, and other specialized skills.
- Strong work ethic with the ability to follow instructions carefully and work effectively as part of a team.
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and stand for extended periods during shifts.
- Commitment to safety standards and procedures on job sites.
- Valid <PERSON> (or relevant identification) required for employment eligibility.
