We are currently seeking a full-time Material Handler, A class "G" license is preferred.
Canada Steel Service Centre is a steel wholesale company with branches across Southwestern Ontario. We typically stock a large variety of Hot Rolled, Cold Rolled, Aluminum, Stainless, Rebar, Mesh, Expanded Metal and specialty products in order to serve our customers as quickly as possible. Canada Steel offers a competitive wage with room to grow as well as a pension matching plan and a benefits package.
The work schedule is a four week cycle. Two weeks of Day shift 7AM to 3PM, then two weeks of Afternoon Shift 3PM to approx 11PM. Hourly rate to be reviewed with a history of experience in steel warehouse material handling experience.
Responsibilities:
- Loading / unloading steel manually and with the use of overhead cranes / forklift
- Fulfilling customer orders by pulling the steel purchased and loading it onto the trucks for delivery
- Ensure loads are secure on the trucks
- Maintaining a clean and organized warehouse
- Communicate with sales staff to ensure order accuracy and quality
- Ensure safe working practices are being followed
- Work towards minimizing inventory losses
- Assist customers when picking up material

Qualifications
- Being a team player

- Background in steel industry is a plus
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Ability to work in a faced paced environment
- Experience loading flatbed trucks (preferably with steel) is a plus
- Ability to read tape measures and verniers / calipers as asset
- Overhead Crane Experience an asset
- Forklift Experience an asset
