We are looking for a kennel attendant to join our team at Skylon Kennels. Skylon Kennels has been open for over 40 years, providing some of the top rated Gold Retrievers in the world. Our pride is producing quality lines free from genetic problems and are sound of mind and body.
The ideal candidate would need;
- Flexible availability of mornings from 7:00am-9:00am Monday through Sunday
- Ability to work evening shifts between 5:00pm-8:00pm when vacation coverage is required
- To love dogs and have experience working with them.
- To be okay getting dirty.
- Have your own transportatio.
We are currently staffed, but would like additional attendants to compliment our team and be available for casual shifts, to give our attendants a break, and to provide extra help when it is needed for vacation coverage and when our team is attending dog shows.
What would you be doing? Below is a variety of tasks our Kennel Attendants are responsible for;
- Taking dogs outside into fenced areas
- Filling water and food bowls
- Ensuring outdoor spaces are clean and free of waste
- Preparing welping (puppy) beds when a litter has been born
- Providing general kennel maintenance like cleaning floors, washing bowls, and cleaning crates
- Lifting food bags and moving crates
- Doing light laundry of dog blankets and towels
