The Restaurant Supervisor is responsible for leading the daily operations of the Moose Woods Home Fire Grill restaurant and lounge, while delivering exceptional guest experiences consistent with Dakota Dunes Resort's service standards. This position provides hands-on leadership by supervising team members, maintaining operational excellence, ensuring food and beverage quality, and fostering a positive, guest-focused culture.
The Restaurant Supervisor works closely with the Food & Beverage leadership team, culinary team, and other resort departments to ensure efficient operations, financial accountability, and memorable guest experiences. This role primarily works AM and Mid-Shift rotations, including weekends and statutory holidays, based on business needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver exceptional guest service and lead by example in creating memorable dining experiences.
- Resolve guest concerns promptly, professionally, and effectively.
- Maintain a visible presence in the dining room and lounge during service periods.
- Supervise and coordinate daily operations of the restaurant and lounge.
- Ensure smooth transitions between shifts.
- Conduct pre-shift meetings to communicate daily priorities, promotions, and service expectations.
- Assist with inventory counts and inventory control while monitoring supplies.
- Ensure all opening, operating, and closing procedures are completed accurately.
- Respond to changing business levels by adjusting staffing and workflow accordingly.
- Supervise, coach, motivate, and support restaurant team members.
- Assist with onboarding and training of new employees.
- Conduct ongoing coaching and performance feedback.
- Foster a respectful, inclusive, and culturally welcoming workplace.
- Set work schedules and monitor staffing levels throughout each shift while approving breaks.
- Ensure food and beverage presentation meets established standards.
- Monitor quality, consistency, cleanliness, and speed of service.
- Work collaboratively with the culinary team to resolve service issues.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred.
- Minimum (2) years of supervisory experience in a restaurant or lounge environment.
- Serve It Right Saskatchewan certificate.
- Safe Food Handling certificate preferred.
- WHMIS certificate preferred.
- First Aide & CPR certification is considered an asset.
- Previous experience using restaurant Point-of-Sale systems.
- Ability to lift, carry and move 11-29 lbs, frequently 30-49 lbs, occasionally 50-75 lbs.
- Strong leadership and development skills.
- Excellent communication and conflict resolution abilities.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism.
- Familiarity with using Microsoft Office.
