Accountant
Full-Time | Entertainment & Hospitality Industry
A Toronto-based entertainment venue is seeking a highly experienced Accountant to join our team full-time and or part time. This role is ideal for someone with strong accounting and bookkeeping experience who can work independently in a fast-paced nightlife and hospitality environment.
Please note: this is not a junior or entry-level position. We are seeking a candidate with proven bookkeeping and accounting experience, preferably within the entertainment, hospitality, restaurant, bar, or nightclub industry.
Core Responsibilities
- Full-cycle accounting and bookkeeping
- Payroll processing and payroll remittances
- Accounts receivable, invoicing, and collections
- Accounts payable processing and allocation to projects/events
- Credit card reconciliations and expense allocations
- Reconciliation of bank accounts, merchant terminals, and event settlements
- Event reconciliation, including sales reporting and balancing revenues
- Liquor inventory reconciliation and inventory account management
- Preparation and analysis of Profit & Loss (P&L) statements / income statements
- Month-end and year-end reporting functions
- Maintain accurate financial records within QuickBooks
- Preparation of GST/HST/EHT returns and government remittances
- Preparation of balance sheets, financial summaries, and forecasting reports
- Assist with budgeting, financial planning, and discrepancy reporting
- Maintain organized accounting records, receipts, and supporting documentation
- Support audits and ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies
- General administrative and accounting support duties as required
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of accounting/bookkeeping experience
- Strong knowledge of Canadian GST/HST regulations and payroll remittances
- Advanced experience using QuickBooks (Online and/or Desktop)
- Strong understanding of Profit & Loss (P&L) statements and financial reporting
- Experience working with liquor inventory and hospitality-related reconciliations
- Experience reconciling high-volume entertainment or hospitality events is considered a strong asset
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, pivot tables, and reporting
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to multitask and work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

All interviews are conducted in person.
This is a fully in-person position and remote work is not available. Candidates must be comfortable working on-site in a fast-paced entertainment and hospitality environment.
Candidates must be legally entitled to work in Canada. Proof of eligibility will be required upon hire.

Benefits
Pay: $55,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
