Mandatory pre-requisite
- 1+ years of enforcement or tactical security experience.
- 1+ years in a customer service role.
- Valid security guard license issued by the Ontario Ministry of Community and Correctional Services.
- Valid First Aid and CPR certificate.
- Valid Use of Force Certificate.
Job qualifications
- Experience with CCTV monitoring system.
- Experience with common security policies, various rules and regulations.
- Experience with access control systems and alarm monitoring procedures.
- Experience with report writing and note taking skills.
- Proven conflict resolution and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent situational assessment and communication skills.
- Must be able to walk, run, stand for extended periods of time, in addition to climbing stairs.
- Knowledge of radio usage (10-codes and etiquette)
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Enforcing the Trespass to property Act and Criminal code section that applies to security guards.
- Prepare detailed reports for incidents.
- Ensuring the safety and security of people, valuable materials, and classified documents pertaining to the premises.
- Access control and CCTV monitoring
- Regularly patrolling indoors and outdoors.
- Communicate with on site tenants in person via telephone and/or email when required.
- Ability to prioritize and execute tasks as directed by the site supervisor.
- Act as first responder in case of emergency, first aid or any other intervention.
- Conduct regular inspections of the serviceability of firefighting and other site equipment.
- Keep an open line of communication and availability with the operations team.
