Shift: Day (8:00 AM – 4:00 PM) or Afternoon (4:00 PM – 12:00 AM), with flexibility for overtime, weekends, and peak business periods as required.
Position Summary
The Lead Hand is responsible for leading the day-to-day activities of an assigned fulfillment line within a fast-paced e-commerce distribution center. This role ensures orders are processed accurately, efficiently, and safely while meeting productivity, quality, and customer service standards. The Line Lead provides frontline leadership by coordinating workflow, coaching team members, monitoring performance, and maintaining a safe and organized work environment.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
- Coordinate and oversee daily fulfillment line operations to ensure productivity and service level targets are achieved.
- Assign work based on operational priorities, staffing levels, and customer requirements.
- Monitor workflow and make real-time adjustments to maximize efficiency.
- Ensure all standard operating procedures (SOPs) are followed consistently.
- Support the successful execution of receiving, picking, packing, sorting, labeling, and shipping activities.
Team Leadership
- Provide daily direction, coaching, and support to warehouse associates.
- Communicate performance expectations and promote accountability.
- Monitor attendance, punctuality, and productivity, escalating concerns to the Supervisor when necessary.
- Assist with onboarding and training new employees on safety procedures, quality standards, and operational processes.
- Foster teamwork and maintain a positive, respectful work environment.
Fulfillment Operations
- Oversee activities including:
- Receiving and processing inbound inventory.
- Inspecting products for damage or discrepancies.
- Picking customer orders accurately.
- Packing and labeling shipments according to customer specifications.
- Loading parcels and packages (up to 40 lbs.) onto conveyors or designated shipping containers.
- Organizing inventory within assigned warehouse locations.
- Ensure inventory accuracy and proper product handling throughout the fulfillment process.
- Maintain accurate operational records using warehouse management systems (WMS), scanners, and barcode technology.
Quality & Productivity
- Monitor order accuracy and quality standards throughout the shift.
- Identify process improvements that increase productivity while reducing errors.
- Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and communicate results to supervisors.
- Assist in resolving operational issues and customer-related exceptions promptly.
Health & Safety
- Promote a strong culture of workplace safety.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and operating procedures.
- Identify, report, and help resolve safety hazards.
- Report all accidents, incidents, and near misses immediately.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work area.
- Reinforce forklift and pedestrian safety practices throughout the warehouse.
Cross-Functional Support
- Coordinate activities with Receiving, Inventory Control, Shipping, and other operational departments.
- Assist in other warehouse functions as operational needs require.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and special projects.

Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and move packages weighing up to 40 lbs.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to perform repetitive lifting, reaching, bending, and manual handling throughout the shift.
- Comfortable working in a physically demanding warehouse environment.
Working Conditions
- Distribution center and warehouse environment.
- Exposure to varying temperatures, warehouse equipment, dust, and moderate noise.
- Overtime, weekends, and extended hours may be required during peak seasons.

Qualifications
Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Post-secondary education in Logistics, Supply Chain, or Operations Management is considered an asset.
Experience
- 1–3 years of experience in a 3PL, fulfillment, distribution, or warehouse environment.
- Previous experience leading or supervising warehouse associates preferred.
- Experience in e-commerce fulfillment operations is strongly preferred.
- Forklift Certification is considered an asset.
- Experience working with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), RF scanners, and inventory management systems preferred.

Pay: $19.00-$21.00 per hour
