Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced HDD Operator / Locator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have three to five years of experience operating Ditchwitch horizontal directional drills and using Falcon locators. A strong background in underground utility work with particular experience in natural gas utilites and line locating is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Operate HDD equipment, and perform locating duties on job sites
- Interpret plans, locate existing underground utilities, and maintain accurate bore paths
- Work closely with crew members to complete trenchless installations safely and efficiently.
- Follow safety protocols diligently to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment
- Perform daily equipment checks and basic maintenance
- Maintain detailed logs of operations, equipment usage, and maintenance activities
Qualifications
- Minimum five years of HDD operating and locating experience
- Experience working with natural gas utilities strongly preferred
- Experience doing underground locates
- Class 5 license and reliable transportation
- Strong teamwork skills with excellent communication abilities
