Overview: Reporting to Product Specification Customer QA Relations / GFMS Team Leader, the incumbent will be working cross functionally throughout the organization to move validated projects to completion.
Position Summary
The Regulatory Affairs and Quality Assurance Coordinator support the development, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of food safety, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance programs within a food manufacturing, processing, importing, or distribution environment in Ontario. This role works cross-functionally with Production, Procurement, R&D, Sales, and Management teams to ensure products, processes, documentation, and labels meet company standards, customer requirements, and applicable Canadian regulatory requirements.
Regulatory Affairs and Quality Assurance Coordinator
· Monitor and interpret applicable Canadian food regulations, including requirements related to the Canadian Food Inspection Agency, Safe Food for Canadians Regulations, Food and Drugs Act and Regulations, consumer packaging and labelling, allergens, nutrition information, ingredient declarations, claims, and product standards.
· Review product labels, packaging artwork, specifications, and marketing materials for regulatory compliance before approval and release.
· Maintain regulatory files, product specifications, supplier documentation, certificates, letters of guarantee, and related compliance records.
· Manage regulatory compliance activities related to product labeling, ingredient reviews, and product specifications.
· Create and maintain product specifications, including ingredient information, product details, and required documentation.
· Complete and maintain customer forms, product questionnaires, and regulatory documentation to support customer requirements and product approvals.
· Coordinate sample submissions and maintained supporting documentation for product reviews and approvals.
· Support new product launches by coordinating regulatory requirements, documentation, and cross-functional approvals.
· Maintain organoleptic evaluation records and shelf-life study documentation to support product quality, compliance, and product release decisions.
· Coordinate shelf-life studies, tracked results, and maintained records to ensure product performance met established standards.
· Collaborate with R&D, Quality, Production, and other departments to ensure products met regulatory and customer requirements.
· Manage customer complaint documentation by reviewing complaint details, collecting supporting information such as product photos, and preparing investigation reports for follow-up and resolution.
· Develop and maintain Manufacturing Procedure Manuals (MPMs), documenting standardized production procedures, work instructions, processing parameters, and manufacturing requirements to support consistent operations, regulatory compliance, and product quality.
· 5 years’ experience in Regulatory Affairs and Quality Assurance for a food manufacturing company.
· B.S. in Food Science or Food Chemistry or related discipline an asset.
· Self-motivated, creative and detail oriented with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
· Excellent computer skills and use of portals.
· Intermediate technical, product development, and application skills.
· Accuracy and attention to detail.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· Strong computer skills.

Pay: $65,000.00-$85,835.68 per year
