Job Responsibilities:
· Provide strategic financial oversight and guidance to Pride Hamilton’s Board of Directors
· Lead the development of the annual budget and monitor financial performance against it
· Prepare and present clear, accurate financial reports (monthly/quarterly) to the Board
· Oversee financial records, bank accounts, cash flow, and authorized transactions
· Ensure proper tracking and documentation of donations, grants, sponsorships, and event revenue
· Support financial planning for Pride events, festivals, and special initiatives
· Develop and maintain financial policies, procedures, and internal controls
· Ensure compliance with nonprofit financial regulations and best practices provincially and federally.
· Identify financial risks and recommend mitigation and sustainability strategies
· Collaborate with fundraising, sponsorship, and event committees to support revenue goals
· Assist with year‑end financial summaries, reporting, and any required filings
· Promote financial transparency, accountability, and ethical stewardship of funds
Qualifications:
· 3 or more years experience working in finance, preferably with non-profits.
· Experience working on a board of directors an asset.
· Excellent team-working, interpersonal, and communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to work effectively with others.
· Must convey a positive and professional image to applicants and employees.
· Strong verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, time management skills, and solid documentation techniques.
· Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
