Job Overview
We are seeking a professional and organized Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service while managing administrative tasks efficiently. This role requires a strong understanding of medical and dental office procedures, proficiency with electronic medical records, and excellent communication skills. Experience with office management software such as Epic and Dentrix is highly preferred. The Medical Receptionist will ensure smooth daily operations at the front desk, coordinate patient scheduling, and support clinical staff as needed.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and professionally upon arrival, ensuring a positive first impression
- Manage multi-line phone systems to schedule appointments, answer inquiries, and relay messages
- Verify patient information and update electronic medical records accurately using systems like Epic and Dentrix
- Collect insurance information, process payments, and handle billing procedures
- Assist with patient check-in and check-out processes efficiently
- Maintain organized front desk operations, including filing, faxing, and correspondence
- Coordinate appointment scheduling to optimize provider availability
- Ensure compliance with privacy regulations and maintain confidentiality of patient information
- Support clinical staff with administrative tasks as needed, including preparing forms or documentation
Requirements
Knowledge of PS Suite
- Prior experience as a Dental Receptionist or Medical Office Receptionist highly preferred
- Proficiency with electronic medical records systems such as Epic and Dentrix
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and dental office procedures
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in data entry and record keeping
- Experience working with multi-line phone systems in a fast-paced environment
- Office experience in a healthcare setting is desirable
- Ability to handle front desk responsibilities with professionalism and courtesy
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with patients and staff
- Prior administrative experience in a medical or dental office is advantageous
