Summary
We are seeking a skilled Packaging Lead Operator to join our team at Blood Brothers Brewing. In this role, you will be responsible for the operational efficiency of our packaging program, and bright cellar work when needed, ensuring the production of high-quality beers that align with our brand's commitment to innovation and excellence. This position is vital to our mission of providing exceptional craft beer to our customers.
Responsibilities
- Lead and execute packaging tasks with a small team on a daily and weekly basis.
- Execute all packaging operations, including canning, bottling, and kegging; assist with equipment setup, cleaning, basic maintenance, and keg washing.
- Conduct regular quality control checks on beer samples throughout the brewing and packaging process.
- Package finished products for distribution while ensuring compliance with safety standards.
- Collaborate with team members to develop new beer recipes and improve existing ones.
- Communicate clearly with supervisors and team members across shifts.
Requirements
- Previous brewery or packaging experience is a must (education in Brewing, Food Science, Biology, or other mechanic/ engineering related fields considered).
- The right candidate will be comfortable with brewery packaging equipment - packaging beer to the highest quality standards, and performing necessary packaging checks.
- Able to lead and instruct a small packaging team on daily and weekly goals
- Perform preventative and reactive maintenance on packaging equipment - including a 6 head filler CODI canning line, and an automated keg filler.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and sanitation practices.
- Physically able to lift 55+ lbs, stand for long periods, and work in a hot industrial setting.
- Mechanical knowledge is an asset for troubleshooting equipment issues.
- Forklift experience an asset.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, potentially including some weekends.
