Job Description
We are seeking a friendly, organized, and professional Dental Front Desk Administrator to join our dental team. The ideal candidate will provide excellent customer service and help ensure smooth day-to-day operations of the clinic. The front desk administrator is often the first point of contact for patients and plays an important role in creating a positive patient experience.
Responsibilities
- Greet and welcome patients in a professional and friendly manner
- Answer phone calls, emails, and patient inquiries
- Schedule, confirm, and manage patient appointments efficiently
- Check patients in and out of the clinic
- Maintain accurate patient records and charts
- Submit and follow up on insurance claims and predeterminations
- Process patient payments and explain treatment estimates when required
- Coordinate recall and re-care appointments
- Manage daily schedules to support productive patient flow
- Communicate effectively with dentists, hygienists, assistants, and patients
- Maintain confidentiality and follow privacy policies
- Perform opening and closing front desk duties
- Assist with administrative tasks, filing, scanning, and office organization
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming reception area
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a dental office preferred
- Knowledge of dental terminology and dental procedures
- Experience with dental software such as Dentrix, Cleardent, Open Dental, Recall Max, or Curve Dental is an asset
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
- Professional appearance and positive attitude
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Attention to detail and strong time-management skills
- Knowledge of dental insurance billing and coordination preferred
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 1–2 years of dental administration or reception experience preferred
- Ability to work evenings or Saturdays if required
- Experience with Microsoft Office and basic office equipment
