Leduc based Valve Repair Company is searching for Shop & Field Service Technicians
The valve technician will report to operations supervisors. The valve technician is responsible for Valve Maintenance and Reconditioning activities.
Essential responsibilities
- Disassemble, clean, inspect, repair/recondition all on-site valves
- Valve Maintenance: Lubrication and Online Repairs.
- Assist Supervisors and Senior Technicians with daily tasks.
- Service Unit Operation.
- Preform basic instrumentation tasks.
- Reassemble and paint, when necessary, all outgoing valves.
- Complete actuation teardown and assemble.
- Complete all documentation required during the repair/ recondition process.
- Assist in shipping and receiving of all material.
- Maintain tools and equipment.
- Assist supervisor as required.
- Assist in inventory control when required.
- Some computer work required.
- Promote a safety culture as well as attend all safety meetings.
- Ensure work area remains clean and well organized.
The right candidate will possess:
- 1-3 years minimum experience in the valve industry is an asset.
- Mechanical Background is an asset.
- Knowledge of Gate, Globe, Control, Check, Ball, and other valves an asset.
- Strong work ethic.
- Good verbal and communication skills.
- Basic level computer skills in MS office products.
- A valid drivers license.
- Safety Tickets: H2S, First Aid, CSO and WHMIS.
- Ability to work overtime if required.
- Ability to work away from home for extended periods at a time.
- Ability to travel with, little to no notice within Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and British Columbia.
- Due to the safety sensitive nature of this position successful candidates will undergo pre-employment D&A test upon hire.
Working Conditions:
- Safety sensitive position in a temperature shop or industrial environment.
- Outdoor work activities.
- Must always wear personal protective equipment. (i.e., hardhats, safety glasses, safety harnesses as required) and respirators when required.
