Job Overview
Prime Quality Construction Inc. is seeking dependable Journeyperson and Apprentice CWB Structural Welders for a local project.
We are looking for people who show up every day, arrive on time and ready to work, follow safety requirements, and consistently produce quality work.
A valid CWB SMAW All-Position certification is required.
Responsibilities
- Perform all-position SMAW welding on structural steel.
- Fabricate, fit, assemble, and install structural steel components.
- Read and follow structural drawings, blueprints, welding symbols, and project specifications.
- Operate welding machines, grinders, cutting equipment, plasma cutters, and other power tools.
- Follow approved welding procedures and quality-control requirements.
- Inspect completed work to confirm it meets project and quality requirements.
- Complete required safety documentation and equipment inspections.
- Work safely at heights and operate aerial work platforms when trained and authorized.
- Coordinate with supervisors, ironworkers, welders, and other trades.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
Qualifications
- Journeyperson certification or registration in a recognized apprenticeship program.
- Current CWB SMAW All-Position certification — required.
- Structural steel welding or construction experience.
- Ability to read drawings, welding symbols, and specifications.
- Dependable and punctual, with consistent daily attendance.
- Arrives on time and ready to work for every scheduled shift.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety.
- Produces consistent, high-quality work.
- Takes pride in their workmanship.
- Works effectively as part of a team.
- Able to work safely at heights and in changing weather conditions.
- Fall protection and aerial work platform certifications are considered assets.
- Reliable transportation to and from the local job site.
This is a local position. No camp accommodations, travel allowance, or living-out allowance are provided.
