GZ Straight Truck Pickup & Delivery Driver - Donation Bins
Location: Local City Routes
Schedule: Day Shift - 2 schedules, one Sunday to Wednesday, one Wednesday to Saturday
Hours: 40–50 hours per week
Starting Wage: $22.00 per hour
Position Overview
We are seeking a reliable and hardworking GZ Licensed Straight Truck Driver to join our team. This position involves local pickup and delivery work throughout the city and surrounding areas, including frequent downtown routes. Drivers will be responsible for collecting donated goods from donation bins and scheduled curbside pickups, loading and securing materials on the truck, and delivering loads to our distribution center.
This is a physically active position requiring manual loading and unloading throughout the day.
Responsibilities
- Operate a straight truck safely and professionally in city and local traffic conditions, including downtown areas.
- Complete scheduled pickups from donation bins and curbside collection locations.
- Open donation bins and manually collect donated items.
- Load donations onto the truck and properly secure all loads for transport.
- Use truck tailgate/liftgate equipment safely and efficiently.
- Transport collected materials to the distribution center and unload as required.
- Maintaining clean pickup locations by collecting all donations found inside and around donation bins is a huge part of this job.
- Ensure no donated items are left behind at pickup locations.
- Conduct daily vehicle inspections and report any maintenance concerns.
- Complete required paperwork, route documentation, and inspections accurately.
- Follow all company safety policies and transportation regulations.
- Provide courteous and professional service when interacting with the public and customers.
Requirements
- Valid GZ Driver's License with a clean driving record.
- Minimum 3 years of commercial driving experience operating a straight truck.
- Experience with local pickup and delivery operations is preferred.
- Ability to safely drive in urban environments and downtown traffic.
- Comfortable performing physically demanding work, including frequent lifting, carrying, loading, and unloading.
- Ability to work independently and manage daily routes efficiently.
- Strong attention to safety and load securement procedures.
- Reliable, punctual, and dependable work ethic.
- Ability to lift and move items throughout the workday.
