The Food Centre has an immediate opening for an Extrusion Operator to work in the Extrusion R&D program. You will be part of a team involved in extrusion-related projects for food applications with external clients and internal initiatives. Learn and develop your skills in a fast-paced, hands-on, project-based, product development environment.
Qualifications:
- Experience in extrusion, food or plastic extrusion, food is preferred
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience as a machine operator in an industrial setting
- Skillful experience with MS Excel and Word
- High school diploma or equivalent, trade or technician certification is an asset
Job Responsibilities:
- Assist with extrusion projects
- Maintain commitment to food safety and good manufacturing practices
- Set up extruders and downstream processing equipment
- Adjust machine settings to optimize results
- Monitor and document machine settings, generate report on extruder and process parameters
- Troubleshoot product, process, mechanical and electrical issues
Work Conditions:
- Frequently standing for an 8-hour shift
- Lifting and moving 25kg bags of flour
