Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Person and Carpenter’s Helper to join our construction team. This role involves assisting with various carpentry and construction projects, supporting skilled tradespeople, and ensuring the successful completion of building tasks. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, a willingness to learn, and experience or interest in construction-related activities. Duties
- Assist with blueprint reading and understanding project schematics to support accurate construction activities
- Support concrete forming, rebar installation, and masonry tasks as directed by supervisors
- Aid in cabinet installation, flooring installation, tile laying, siding, and roofing projects
- Operate hand tools, power tools and other construction machinery safely and effectively
- Perform general carpentry tasks including woodworking, framing, and assembly of building components
- Support plumbing and electrical work under supervision for various renovation or new construction projects
- Assist with restoration projects by preparing surfaces and applying finishing techniques such as painting and caulking
- Handle heavy lifting and material movement around job sites to ensure smooth workflow
- Follow safety protocols diligently to maintain a safe working environment at all times
- Read schematics and construction estimating documents to support project planning and execution
Qualifications
- Prior experience or familiarity with construction trades such as carpentry, is preferred
- Knowledge of blueprint reading, schematics, and construction estimating is a plus
- Experience with hand tools, power tools, is advantageous
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and work in physically demanding environments
- Strong understanding of safety procedures related to construction sites
- Handyman experience or background in manufacturing can be beneficial
- Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to follow detailed instructions accurately
- Valid driver’s license is preferred for site access and material transportation purposes
