Position Overview
The Westin Bear Mountain Resort & Spa is seeking a full-time Gardener / Landscaper to support the maintenance and enhancement of our estate-style grounds. Surrounded by natural mountain views, this role plays a key part in delivering a visually exceptional and welcoming outdoor environment for our guests.
The Gardener / Landscaper is responsible for maintaining and renovating exterior garden beds, extensive potted arrangements, hanging baskets, and hardscape areas throughout the properties. The role also supports interior plant care, floral arrangements, and seasonal décor, including event displays and holiday installations.
We are committed to maintaining all guest-facing views to a high standard of excellence year-round. A strong interest in horticulture, attention to detail, and a passion for creating beautiful outdoor spaces are essential.
This is a full-time position.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and enhance all exterior garden beds, planters, and landscaped areas across the property
- Plant, prune, weed, fertilize, and water flowers, shrubs, and greenery
- Assist with planting programs and landscape improvements
- Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of hard surfaces, including pathways, patios, and surrounding areas
- Support interior plant care and floral arrangements within hotel public spaces
- Assist with event-related displays and seasonal or holiday décor installations
- Operate landscaping tools and equipment safely and efficiently
- Ensure all work is completed in alignment with brand standards and safety guidelines
Qualifications & Requirements
- Passion for gardening, landscaping, and outdoor aesthetics
- Previous horticulture or landscaping experience strongly preferred
- Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting up to 50 lbs
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions, including rain, heat, and cooler temperatures
- Valid Class 5 driver’s licence required
- Ability to operate landscaping equipment, including lawn mowers, hedge trimmers, weed trimmers, pole pruners, and golf carts
- Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to complete repetitive tasks such as weeding, planting, and pruning
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00 per hour
