Three Links Care Centre is seeking nurses who are passionate and looking to make a difference in residential care/seniors care.
The RN/RPN is responsible for the day-to-day delivery and supervision of nursing care, care planning, communicating with families and interdisciplinary team members and maintaining health records.
RN/RPNs are expected to work collaboratively with several teams including the a group of dedicated house physicians, families, Cambie Mental Health Team, Dementia Care Team, , OT/PT from the community and Medical Pharmacies to name a few.
RN/RPNsreport directly to The Director of Care and Clinical Lead.
We are looking for individuals who can work evenings and night shifts.
Hours of work are 8hrs/day.
Three Links Care Centre is a 90-bed complex care home built in 1982. We are located in East Vancouver(22nd Avenue @ Renfrew Street).
The care home is operated in partnership with Three Links Care Society (non-for-profit organization) and Vancouver Coastal Health Authority.
The home consists of a 20-bed secured unit and 70 beds for general population.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education, Training and Experience:
· Graduate from a recognized nursing program.
· Current practicing registration with the British Columbia College of Nursing Professionals (BCCNP)
· Current Occupational First Aid Level 1 Certificate and CPR C Certification.
· Recent Residential Care experience preferred.
Skills and Abilities:
Teamwork and Collaboration: Demonstrated ability to work together with others toward shared goals and desired outcomes. Demonstrates an ability to effectively establish professional working relationships with residents and their families as well as members of the care team toward the outcome of excellence in resident care.
· Knowledge: Clinical competence appropriate with individuals residing in a residential care setting.
· Communication: Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, the public, medical staff and the members of the interdisciplinary team – both verbally and in writing. Ability to intervene effectively to resolve conflict and produce positive outcomes. Manage stress and work pressure effectively.
· Result-oriented: Ability to identify opportunities for improvement. Formulate and implement plans that produce desired outcomes in a timely and effective manner.
· Problem-solving : Demonstrated ability to apply critical thinking skills when analyzing incidents, looking at all possible root causes to help guide decisions and action plans.
· Physical: Ability to carry out all duties of the position including performing repetitive tasks, lifting, transferring and moving residents safely. Must be in good health and free from communicable diseases.
