Responsibilities:
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on heavy trucks, trailers, and related equipment.
- Perform preventive maintenance and scheduled inspections according to manufacturer and company standards.
- Conduct safety inspections on brakes, steering, suspension, tires, and other major systems to ensure compliance with MTO and DOT regulations.
- Complete engine, transmission, differential, and driveline repairs or replacements as required.
- Service air brake systems, electrical wiring, lighting systems, and electronic diagnostic components.
- Ensure all repairs are completed efficiently, safely, and correctly the first time.
Qualifications:
- Valid Ontario 310T Truck and Coach Technician License (mandatory).
- Minimum 3–5 years of hands-on experience in heavy truck and trailer maintenance and repair (experience with fleet or dealership environments is an asset).
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, air brakes, electrical systems, and diagnostic software.
- Ability to interpret technical manuals, schematics, and work orders accurately.
- Proficient with diagnostic tools and computerized maintenance systems.
- Must have a valid G driver’s license (AZ or DZ license an asset).
- Familiarity with MTO, CVOR, and DOT regulations and inspection standards.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Physically capable of performing heavy lifting and working in various environments (shop and yard).
