WestCana is looking for casual Housekeeper / Janitor with a passion for the elderly to join one of our teams to support our residents in Victoria.

- Wage: $25.82 per hour

Casual Janitor
($25.82 per hour)
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid certification in WHMIS.
- Building Service Worker Certificate and/or Institutional Aide Certificate is preferred.
- Institutional cleaning experience is preferred.
- Legally allowed to work in Canada.
- Ability to read and communicate effectively in English.
- Satisfactory proof of COVID-19 vaccinations.
- Clear Criminal Record Check
- Previous experience in a Long-Term Care facility is preferred.
- Provides janitorial services in common areas and resident care rooms as needed.
- Collects and disposes of recycling, shredding, and waste.
- Reports repair needs and clears snow and debris from sidewalks.
- Reviews maintenance logs and completes corrective actions promptly.
- Monitors the facility and resolves building and equipment issues safely and in a timely manner.
- Supports the facility Safety Program by identifying and reporting hazards, incidents, accidents, near misses, and unsafe equipment.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Casual Housekeeping Aides
($25.82 per hour)
- Valid certification in WHMIS.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Effective English communication skills
- Legally eligible to work in Canada
- Clear Criminal Record Check
- Ability to multitask and meet deadlines
- Perform housekeeping and laundry services for residents
- Clean resident rooms and common areas
- Follow infection control and safety procedures
- Assist dietary and laundry departments when required
