Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have experience in the food industry, in Retirement living. Demonstrating a strong understanding of kitchen operations, food handling, and meal preparation. This role is essential in delivering high-quality dishes that meet our standards for taste and presentation while ensuring food safety practices are followed.
Duties
- Prepare and cook a variety of meals according to established recipes and menus.
- Ensure all food is prepared in a timely manner while maintaining high standards of quality.
- Assist with the setup and breakdown of kitchen stations before and after service.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including proper storage of food items.
- Monitor food inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies as needed.
- Follow all food safety guidelines to ensure the health and safety of guests and staff.
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations during meal service.
- Help train new kitchen staff on proper cooking techniques and kitchen protocols.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Cook in a Retirement or similar food service environment.
- Vulnerable Sectors Check
- Food Handlers Certificate
- 2 Step TB Skin Test
- Strong knowledge of food handling, preparation techniques, and safety standards.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work well within a team.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- A passion for cooking and creating delicious meals that delight customers.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $19.70-$21.00 per hour
