Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Automotive Painter/Prepper to join our team. This role involves preparing vehicles for painting, applying paint and finishes, and ensuring high-quality results that meet insurance company standards. Responsibilities
- Prepare vehicle surfaces by sanding, grinding, and cleaning to ensure optimal paint adhesion
- Mask off areas not to be painted using hand tools and masking tape
- Apply primer, base coats, and clear coats with precision using spray guns and power tools
- Perform touch-ups and refinishing as needed to meet quality standards
- Assist with vehicle repairs as necessary, including minor mechanical tasks
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure safety and efficiency
- Inspect finished work for quality assurance and make adjustments as needed
Qualifications
- Prior dealership or automotive repair experience is highly preferred
- Mechanical knowledge of vehicle systems is a plus
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and spray equipment required
- Ability to lift heavy objects safely and perform physically demanding tasks
- Experience with automotive painting, prep work, or refinishing is desirable
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality workmanship
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
