READ FIRST — Eligibility Requirements
This position is funded through the Venture for Canada (VFC) Internship Program. The funder sets these requirements, and they are non-negotiable. If you do not meet all four, we unfortunately cannot hire you for this role:
- Currently enrolled in an eligible Canadian post-secondary institution (college or university). Proof of enrolment is required.
- Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person granted refugee status in Canada.
- Legally eligible to work in Canada.
- Registered and approved with Venture for Canada — you must sign up through VFC before we can process your hire. Register at .
International students are not eligible for this program. This is a restriction from the federal funder, not a decision we've made. We're sorry — we'd love to hire you, and we can't.
Please do not apply if you don't meet these criteria. We review every application, and we'd rather spend that time on candidates we can actually bring on.
About Us
We're Alberta's first nutraceutical gummy manufacturer. We make GUMvees — gummies you'll find on the shelf at Walmart Canada, Sobeys, Safeway, Calgary Co-op, and in 80 airport stores across 11 Canadian airports.
Everything is made right here in Edmonton, in a facility our founder built herself. We're a small team of about 25 people who move fast, make real product, and are growing quickly.
The Role
We need someone to own the day-to-day of our social channels — someone who lives on Instagram and TikTok and can turn a factory floor, a batch of gummies, and a founder's story into content people actually stop for.
This is a hands-on internship. You won't be fetching coffee. You'll be shooting, editing, posting, and watching the numbers move.
What You'll Do
- Plan and maintain the content calendar across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and LinkedIn
- Shoot and edit short-form video and photo content — in the plant, at retail, at events
- Write captions and hooks that sound like us: punchy, grounded, no fluff
- Engage with our community — comments, DMs, tags, reposts
- Organize and maintain our content library so assets are easy to find and reuse
- Track performance and report on what's working (reach, saves, engagement, follower growth)
- Help capture content for retail launches, trade shows, and new product drops
- Keep all content aligned with Health Canada regulations for supplements and supplemented foods (we'll train you on this — no experience required)
What You Bring
- Enrolled in a marketing, communications, media, business, or related post-secondary program (see eligibility requirements above)
- A genuine feel for short-form video — you know what makes someone stop scrolling
- Comfortable on camera and behind it
- Working knowledge of CapCut, Canva, or similar editing tools
- Strong written English and an eye for detail
- Self-directed — you can run with a task without being checked on twice a day
- Access to reliable transportation to our Edmonton facility
Nice to Have
- A portfolio, personal account, or client work you can show us
- Experience with Meta Business Suite or scheduling tools
- Interest in CPG, food manufacturing, health, or wellness
- Photography or graphic design skills
What You Get
- $25/hour
- Hybrid flexibility: shoot days on site, editing and planning from wherever
- Real ownership of real channels with real reach
- Direct mentorship from our founder and leadership team
- A close look at how a Canadian manufacturing business actually runs — from formulation to shelf
- Portfolio work you can point to
- Potential for extension or a permanent role for the right person
How to Apply
Send your resume and a link to your portfolio, reel, or a social account you've run to [email protected] with the subject line "Social Media Coordinator – [Your Name]".
In your email, please confirm in writing that you meet all four VFC eligibility requirements listed at the top of this posting. Applications that don't include this confirmation will not be reviewed.
Bonus points: include one piece of content you'd create for GUMvees and explain why it would work.
