Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Shop Technician to join our automotive service team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in automotive repair and maintenance, with a strong mechanical aptitude. This role involves performing repairs, diagnostics, and maintenance tasks in a fast-paced environment, ensuring high-quality service for our customers. Prior dealership experience and familiarity with various hand and power tools are highly valued. The Shop Technician will play a vital role in supporting our service operations through technical expertise and efficient work practices.
Responsibilities
- Conduct vehicle diagnostics to identify mechanical issues accurately
- Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire rotations, and brake inspections
- Repair and replace faulty components using hand tools and power tools
- Assist with complex repairs requiring mechanical knowledge and problem-solving skills
- Use heavy lifting techniques to move parts or equipment safely
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the shop area to ensure safety and efficiency
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures during repair activities
- Document repair procedures and communicate findings effectively to team members
Requirements
- Prior dealership experience or extensive mechanic experience preferred
- Strong mechanical knowledge of automotive systems and components
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely (up to 50 pounds)
- Experience with automotive repair or maintenance is essential
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a dynamic environment
- Valid driver’s license is required for certain job functions
