Overview
We are seeking an experienced Home Renovation Labourer to join our dynamic construction team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in residential and commercial renovation projects, with a comprehensive skill set that includes carpentry, masonry, electrical, plumbing, and finishing work. This role offers the opportunity to work on diverse projects, from framing and drywall installation to flooring and cabinetry, contributing to transforming homes and commercial spaces. Candidates must demonstrate proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment operation, along with a solid understanding of construction schematics and blueprints. Duties
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction plans to execute renovation tasks accurately.
- Perform carpentry duties such as framing, cabinetry installation, and drywall setup.
- Operate power tools including saws, drills, and sanders safely and efficiently.
- Execute masonry tasks such as concrete forming, finishing, and repair work.
- Conduct plumbing installations and repairs as required for residential or commercial projects.
- Handle electrical wiring or fixtures installation in compliance with safety standards (where qualified).
- Apply caulking, painting, flooring installation, tile laying, and other finishing techniques to complete projects.
- Operate heavy equipment safely for excavation or material handling when necessary.
- Assist in restoration projects including demolition, cleanup, and site preparation.
- Measure spaces accurately to ensure precise fitting of materials and components.
- Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools and disposing of debris properly.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure project deadlines are met while adhering to safety regulations.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in home renovation or construction environments with a strong portfolio of completed projects.
- Proficiency in blueprint reading and understanding construction schematics.
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment operation.
- Knowledge of concrete forming and finishing techniques.
- Experience with carpentry including framing, cabinet installation, and drywall work.
- Familiarity with plumbing systems and electrical wiring (certifications preferred).
- Ability to perform masonry tasks such as concrete finishing and bricklaying.
- Capable of operating welding equipment when necessary for structural repairs or modifications.
- Knowledge of flooring installation including tile laying.
- Strong understanding of construction estimating processes is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Valid drivers license and their own vehicle.
