Foremost has an immediate opening for an HR Advisor at our Calgary manufacturing facility. Reporting to the Senior Manager, HSE & Human Resources, this role is responsible for providing comprehensive HR support across the employee lifecycle while working as part of a collaborative and lean HR team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced HR professional who enjoys balancing strategic partnership with hands-on HR administration in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain the highest level of discretion and confidentiality regarding employee information in accordance with privacy legislation, employment legislation, and Foremost’s internal policies.
- Provide guidance and support on a variety of HR matters, including recruitment, disability management, performance management, employee relations, leadership development, compensation, and benefits.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for employee inquiries related to the HR/Payroll system (UKG).
- Interprets and executes HR policies, processes, and practices in accordance with the company's philosophy, throughout the entire employee life cycle
- Partner with managers to develop recruitment strategies and workforce plans in support of HR Talent Recruiter.
- Prepare and issue employment offers, contracts, and related documentation.
- Coordinate and facilitate onboarding activities for new employees.
- Represent Foremost at career fairs, recruitment events, and industry information sessions to promote career opportunities and strengthen employer branding
- Provides general HR Administrative assistance
- Provides Payroll backup and assistance as needed
- Primary point of contact for benefit related questions and STD claims
- Support ongoing HR initiatives and assigned projects
Qualifications
- Diploma/Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
- 3-5 years of experience in an HR Advisor or HR Generalist, or similar role
- Strong proficiency MS Office applications
- Experience with UKG and HR reporting would be an asset
- Working knowledge of provincial employment standards, human rights legislation and recruitment best hiring practices is a requirement
- Experience supporting both unionized and non-unionized workforces.
- Provide a high level of professional and timely customer service both internally and externally is essential
- Excellent communication, organization, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with the Human Resources team and other stakeholders while managing multiple priorities.
