Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Industrial Sandblaster to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing surfaces through abrasive blasting techniques to ensure high-quality finishes on various metal and industrial components. This role requires mechanical aptitude, familiarity with hand and power tools, and a commitment to safety and efficiency in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Operate sandblasting equipment to clean and prepare surfaces of metal parts and structures
- Set up and calibrate blasting machines according to project specifications
- Inspect finished surfaces for quality, ensuring proper texture and cleanliness
- Maintain and troubleshoot sandblasting equipment to ensure optimal performance
- Follow safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as respirators, gloves, and protective clothing
- Assist with other manufacturing tasks such as assembly, machining, or welding as needed
- Maintain a clean work area and properly dispose of abrasive materials and debris
Skills
- Mechanical knowledge with experience in using hand tools, power tools, and basic maintenance of equipment
- Familiarity with crane operation, forklift handling, and other material handling machinery is a plus
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to surface preparation
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles to promote efficiency and waste reduction
- Ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment while adhering to company safety standards
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced setting
Pay: $20.00-$35.00 per hour
