We are seeking five Permanent Part-time Dietary Aide to support a highly motivated team our LTC home Nutrition Services Program.
The incumbent is responsible for always providing the highest quality of customer service while preparing and serving food to meet the needs of our Residents and expectations of the Kensington Health Centre in accordance with the standards and guidelines of the Fixing Long-Term Care Act, 2021.
Assist in arranging portioning desserts, assembling nourishment carts, unloading food items into steam table for meal service, assembling meal trays, loading food carts, and serving meals.
Required Skills and Abilities:
The Food Service Worker stands and walks intermittently throughout the working day, as well as reaches, stoops, bends, lifts, carries, and manipulates various food products, dietary supplies and equipment.
The Food Service Worker must have an ability to work with chemicals and cleaning agents. Must be able to lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds and withstand exposure to temperature and humidity changes as in entering refrigerated storage areas, working at ovens, ranges, dish washing machines, and at steam tables.
Required Knowledge and Experience:
Ability to read, understand and follow recipe directions, diet orders, resident kardex information, and work assignments.
Numerical ability is necessary for recipe preparation and proper measuring of cleaning agents and chemicals, as well as good motor coordination and manual dexterity are required for various work routines such as preparing food items, serving trays, handling soiled dishes, operating dietary equipment and cleaning work area.
The Food Service Worker will be able and willing to work flexible hours, such as during an emergency situation and must be patient and tolerant toward staff, residents, and family members.
