POSITION:
Public Health Nurses and/or Registered Nurses – Vaccination Clinics - ONA
HOURS OF WORK:
Casual – Hours of Work will vary on a Daily and Weekly Basis and work may include days, evenings, and weekends
EFFECTIVE:
September 21, 2026 until December 31, 2026 (Subject to Change)
LOCATION:
Main Office – North Bay or Parry Sound Branch Office (with opportunities to work at clinics held in Magnetawan, Mattawa, Sundridge, West Nipissing and other communities across the district)

POSITION SUMMARY:
Working as a member of the Vaccine Preventable Diseases Team (VPD), the incumbents will provide support for the delivery of vaccinations.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
· BScN or Diploma in Public Health Nursing or Diploma in Nursing
· Current certificate of competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario
· Current certification in Basic Life Support (HCP)
· Two years recent experience in a clinical setting; may consider applicants with less than two years’ experience
· Have initiated or completed a HB vaccination series or proof of immunity
· Be proficient at administering intramuscular injections to clients of all ages in an empathetic and caring manner
· Working knowledge and understanding of the Health Care Consent Act
· An understanding of Federal, Provincial and Municipal legislation and regulations such as the Health Protection and Promotion Act, Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act, Personal Health Information Protection Act (PHIPA), Health Care Consent Act, Child and Family Services Act, Occupational Health and Safety Act, Ontario Public Health Standards (2021)
· Strong interpersonal, organizational and problem-solving skills
· Strong clinical documentation skills (all documentation is done electronically)
· Ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced clinic setting
· Ability to foster a positive work environment
· Ability to participate effectively in a multi-disciplinary team
· Ability to work within a self- directed team and collaborate with other teams in program delivery
· Ability to flex work hours as required
As a condition of employment, the successful candidate will be required to provide a Criminal Reference Check including the Vulnerable Sector Check: recent, within four (4) months at their expense and will be required to comply with the Health Unit’s immunization policies Please refer to the individual policies for specific requirements and processes. HOURLY RATE:
BScN/PHN - Minimum $45.31 to Maximum $50.97 plus 6% vacation pay, 4.6% public holiday pay and 6% benefits pay
RN – Minimum $42.67 to Maximum $47.74 plus 6% vacation pay, 4.6% public holiday pay and 6% benefits pay
