Black Bear Painting & Contracting is looking for a reliable and motivated Painter Helper to join our team.
We specialize in exterior painting, wood restoration, timber frame homes, log homes, decks, and specialty finishing projects throughout the Shuswap region.
No experience is necessary. We are willing to train the right person.
Requirements:
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Reliable and punctual
- Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions
- Comfortable working on ladders, scaffolding, and at heights
- Ability to follow instructions and work safely
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs regularly
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and climb throughout the workday
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks such as sanding, scraping, brushing, and rolling
- Ability to work on ladders, scaffolding, and elevated work platforms
- Ability to work outdoors in hot, cold, and varying weather conditions
- Physically capable of completing a full day's work on active construction and residential job sites
Preferred Experience:
Preference will be given to applicants with experience in:
- Construction
- Farming or agricultural work
- Landscaping
- Roofing
- General labour
- Carpentry
- Other physically demanding outdoor work environments
Previous painting experience is an asset but is not required.
Job Duties:
- Surface preparation including washing, scraping, sanding, masking, and caulking
- Assisting with exterior painting and staining projects
- Job site setup and cleanup
- Material handling and equipment operation
- Working alongside experienced painters on residential and commercial projects
- Maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work environment
