Earthworks Production Supervisor (Shift Boss Certified)
Sparwood, British Columbia
Build the shift that builds the project.
You don’t just run a crew. You set the tone for how the entire shift performs.
On our Elk Valley mining projects, you’ll lead from the front to keep people safe, equipment moving, and production on track. When conditions change, pressure builds, or things don’t go to plan—you’re the one who brings control, makes the call, and keeps the crew moving forward safely.
How you’ll make an impact
You’ll create a shift that runs smoothly, safely, and productively, where everyone knows the plan, trusts each other, and gets the job done right.
- Make safety the standard. Not something that gets checked off, but something the crew actually lives
- Ensure every person goes home safe, every shift, no exceptions
- Turn daily plans into real production by aligning people, equipment, and priorities
- Build a crew that communicates clearly and looks out for each other
- Catch risks early and deal with them before they become incidents
- Deliver consistent production without cutting corners
What you’ll get to lead
This isn’t a clipboard role. You’ll be in it, on the ground, in the pit, with the crew.
- Lead pre-shift meetings and FLHAs that actually matter, not just paperwork
- Stay visible in the field, reinforcing safe work practices in real time
- Run a shift where production and safety go hand in hand
- Coordinate equipment and crews to keep work flowing without creating risk
- Support and develop your crew so safety becomes instinct, not instruction
- Be the link between the field and project leadership, clear, direct, no surprises
At MacKay, Be Safe Always isn’t a slogan - it’s the expectation. You’ll be the one who brings that to life on shift.
