Join Our Team as a ReStore Associate!
We are seeking a friendly, reliable, and customer-focused part-time ReStore Associate to support the daily operations of our Brantford ReStore location while delivering an exceptional experience for customers and donors.
As a ReStore Associate, you are often the first point of contact for our community. Your role is essential in creating a welcoming environment, supporting sales, maintaining merchandising standards, and ensuring donated goods are presented in a way that maximizes revenue and impact.
The Habitat ReStores generate revenue by selling donated and reclaimed building materials and household articles to fund the activities of Habitat for Humanity Heartland Ontario.

As ReStore Manager, you are responsible for turning donations into dollars - and dollars into homes. Your leadership directly impacts revenue generation, donor relationships, customer experience, and the strength of the ReStore team.
Simply put: when the store performs well, more families get homes.
What success looks like (6-12 months)
- Customers and donors consistently experience friendly, professional, and helpful service.
- Sales transactions are accurate, efficient, and compliant with cash-handling standards.
- Incoming donations are processed efficiently and prepared for sale in a timely manner.
- Inventory is well-stocked, with high-demand or low-stock items communicated proactively to management.
- Health and safety practices are consistently followed, contributing to a safe and organized store.
- You show up engaged, dependable, and aligned with our mission and values.
What you'll do
- Deliver exceptional customer, donor, and volunteer service while supporting a welcoming and positive shopping experience.
- Build strong relationships with customers and donors to encourage ongoing engagement and repeat visits.
- Support sales activities through product pricing, promotion, negotiation, and upselling opportunities.
- Process transactions accurately and efficiently using the point-of-sale system.
- Respond to customer inquiries and assist with email and general correspondence.
- Prepare, merchandise, and maintain attractive product displays and organized sales floor areas.
- Assess, approve, price, and record donations in alignment with organizational practices and procedures.
- Manage inventory flow, including overstock storage, deliveries, pickups, and truck scheduling support.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment while following all health and safety requirements.
- Promote teamwork, collaboration, and a positive workplace culture.
- Support and uphold Habitat’s mission, values, and community impact initiatives.
About You:
- Customer Service Focus: Friendly, professional, and service-oriented.
- Retail Readiness: Comfortable assisting customers, handling transactions, and supporting sales.
- Adaptability: Able to manage changing priorities in a fast-paced retail environment.
- Attention to Detail: Takes pride in product presentation and store organization.
- Technology Skills: Comfortable using POS systems and basic computer applications.
- Physical Capability: Able to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks safely.
- Availability: Willingness to work Saturdays as scheduled.
- Certifications: Forklift Operator license is an asset or willingness to become certified.
- Cleared criminal background check.
