Job Overview
We are looking for a well-trained Carpenter to join our team. We are based in The Blue Mountains and service mostly Collingwood to Thornbury area.
Duties and responsibilities include but aren't limited to, the following:
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches and to understand project specifications
- Framing of walls, roofs, decks etc.
- Installing trim/mouldings
- Installation and troubleshooting of windows, doors and sealed units
- Aluminum work including trough, fascia and soffit
- Experience with flooring installs considered an asset
- Handling of drywall. Mudding/taping considered an asset
- Experience with light electrical work including removal and installation of light fixtures considered an asset
- Experience with general plumbing work including sink and toilet troubleshooting and installs considered an asset
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 5+ years of carpentry experience
- Completion of a carpentry program at a vocational school or carpentry apprenticeship is preferred
- A valid driver's license and vehicle to get from job to job
- Strong working knowledge of carpentry techniques and methods, including installation and construction
- Capability to work with others and independently
- Proficient in using various types of construction tools and equipment
- Proficient and experienced in minor plumbing and electrical work
- Good physical condition, stamina, and dexterity
Position Type: Full-time position
Position Schedule: Monday-Friday, 35-40 hours/week
Pay Range: Starting at $28, depending on experience
