The Opportunity
We are looking for a Heavy Duty Equipment Technician to join our team. Reporting to the Shop Foreman, you will diagnose, maintain, and repair a diverse fleet of heavy equipment in a fast-paced environment.
What You’ll Do
- Diagnose and repair engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, and electrical components
- Perform inspections, servicing, lubrication, and preventative maintenance
- Use diagnostic software and tools to identify issues
- Ensure all work meets manufacturer specifications and safety standards
- Complete work orders accurately and on time
- Support and guide apprentices as needed
What You Bring
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum Level 3 Heavy Duty (HD) certification (Journeyperson preferred)
- Welding experience is an asset
- Strong mechanical and diagnostic ability
- Proficient with computers and diagnostic tools
- Effective communication and problem-solving skills
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Safety-focused mindset
Requirements
- Must have a complete set of mechanic’s hand tools
- Valid Manitoba Class 5 Driver’s License
- Physically capable of lifting up to 100 lbs and performing manual labour
- Comfortable working in various weather conditions and shop environments
- Willing to work extended hours (including weekends and on-call during peak season)
