Job Summary
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Purchasing Assistant to support our purchasing and procurement team within a growing truck manufacturing company. This position plays an important role in ensuring materials, parts, and supplies are ordered accurately and delivered on time to support our manufacturing operations.
The ideal candidate is proactive, enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, and has strong communication and administrative skills. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals to gain experience in purchasing, supply chain, and manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare, process, and track purchase orders to ensure timely procurement of materials
- Communicate with suppliers regarding order confirmations, product availability, lead times, shipment status, and delivery updates.
- Maintain accurate purchasing records, supplier information, and procurement documentation.
- Monitor stock order minimums/maximums to ensure sufficient inventory levels.
- Coordinate with production, warehouse, and accounting teams to ensure timely receipt of materials.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies related to purchase orders, invoices, and deliveries.
- Update and maintain purchasing data within inventory management systems.
- Provide general administrative support to the purchasing department.
Requirements:
- Education either Degree, Diploma or Certificate in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field is preferred.
- A minimum of 1 year of procurement or purchasing experience, ideally within a manufacturing environment.
- A combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, etc.).
- Effective problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
- Able to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Proven time management and multitasking abilities.
- A strong work ethic, reliability, and a positive, solution-oriented approach to teamwork.

Pay: $45,760.00-$70,319.26 per year
