Overview
As a safety & compliance coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that our organization adheres to all regulatory requirements and safety policies. You will be the guardian of compliance, working diligently to promote a culture of integrity and accountability.
What you’ll do
- Develop, implement, and maintain compliance programs that align with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Conduct regular audits and assessments to identify areas of non-compliance and recommend corrective actions.
- Complete understanding of the requirements of the driver qualification file.
- Understand and complete required maintenance files.
- Should be able to read and understand CVOR/ NSC and SMS, and be able to monitor and update periodically.
- Renew permits, plates, and authorities.
- Knowledge of Hazmat/dangerous goods
- Administer and manage the Drug and Alcohol Program in compliance with regulations.
- Maintain and update driver and vehicle maintenance files.
- Review, monitor, and update CVOR/NSC/SMS reports.
- Oversee collision files and claims management with insurance providers.
- Track tickets, convictions, and inspections, ensuring timely documentation and follow-up.
- Analyze ELD reports and audit driver logs for compliance with U.S. and Canadian Hours of Service (HOS) rules.
- Ensure ongoing compliance with CVOR, US DOT, CSA, C-TPAT, PIP, FAST, and SmartWay standards.
- Oversee plating, licensing, and IFTA compliance.
- Conduct compliance follow-ups and support MTO/DOT audits.
- Perform annual reviews for drivers and owner-operators.
- Set daily, weekly, and monthly tasks to follow up on various activities
- Co-ordinate between the back office and the client
- Stay current with industry regulatory changes and implement best practices.
- Prepare detailed reports on compliance status, findings from audits, and recommendations for improvement.
Basic qualifications and requirements
- 2+ years of verifiable previous experience in Safety & Compliance
- Excellent report writing skills with attention to detail.
- Familiarity with compliance programs: C-TPAT, PIP, CSA, SmartWay.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and coordination abilities.
- High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Must have own car and a valid driving license
- Weekend availability, as and when required
