About Harlund Industries
For over 40 years, Harlund Industries has been the backbone of end-of-line packaging equipment for Canadian manufacturers. From food and beverage producers to industrial product plants, our customers rely on us for Industrial Ink Jet Printers, Print & Apply Labelers, Case Packers, Tapers & Erectors. When a manufacturing line needs to print a date and/or batch code, apply a critical label, or pack a case of their product, they rely on Harlund to keep production moving.
Headquartered in Edmonton, with sales and service centers in Vancouver and Toronto, we represent world-class equipment manufactured in Canada, Japan, Sweden, the UK, and the USA.
We are expanding our team and looking for a seasoned Account Manager to take over an established, high-performing Prairie territory.
The Role: What You’ll Do
This is a high-visibility, active role. Operating out of our Edmonton Head Office, you will be the face of Harlund across Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba. Your primary mission is two-fold: defend and grow our deeply valued existing base, while actively uncovering new opportunities on the plant floor.
Because we sell complex capital equipment, success relies on seamless collaboration. You won’t be operating in an isolated bubble; you will work closely with our local leadership and technical teams to ensure our customers are taken care of.
- Own the Territory: Manage, support, and deepen relationships with our established manufacturing and packaging clients. You will be their trusted consultant, helping them identify unconsidered opportunities.
- Deliver the Solution: Conduct on-site equipment demonstrations. You aren't just selling a machine; you’re looking at their production process and identifying a solution that increases their uptime.
- Collaborate In-House: Work directly alongside the Western Canada Sales Manager at our Edmonton office to map out territory strategies, manage your CRM pipeline, and provide accurate technical quotes.
- Bridge the Gap: Work hand-in-hand with our factory-trained technical service department. You will communicate consistently with internal staff to ensure seamless post-sale support, sample requests, and warranty care addressed.
- Travel the Prairies: Travel extensively throughout the territory to be face-to-face with your clients on the manufacturing floor when they need you.
- Keep Learning: Travel within Canada and internationally (including the US) for elite product and technical training directly from our manufacturing partners.
Who You Are
You are a consultative sales professional who understands the industrial landscape. You know how to talk to plant managers and operators, procurement teams, and business owners alike. You are a team player who values open communication, accountability, and collaborating with the operations team.
- Experienced: You have a proven track record in capital equipment sales, industrial manufacturing, or the packaging industry. (If you don't have direct packaging experience but possess a mechanical aptitude and disciplined sales skills to learn it quickly, we want to hear from you).
- A Strong Communicator: You understand that internal communication is just as important as client communication. You build strong working relationships with your coworkers, communicate transparently, and handle opportunity details accurately.
- Relationship-Driven: You believe a sales cycle doesn't end when the PO is signed. You excel at building long-term trust, following up on details, and managing customer expectations. In a consultive sale, relationships are important and you have the ability to not only create those relationships but maintain them as well.
- Technically Minded: You have a natural mechanical aptitude. You have a curious mind that craves understanding how a piece of equipment operates.
- Organized & Accountable: You are structured in your time management, comfortable traveling the road, and energized by working within a collaborative office environment when not traveling.
- Equipped: You possess proficiency with CRM and standard business software (Word, Excel), a professional presentation, and a reliable vehicle.
What’s In It For You?
We know top sales talent is hard to find, and we reward it accordingly:
- Competitive Base Salary with a highly lucrative, progressive commission structure that rewards your growth.
- Vehicle Allowance + Per-KM Reimbursement to cover your territory travel costs.
- Cost-Shared Group Benefits Package: Access to extended health, dental, and vision coverage to keep you and your family protected.
- Health Spending Account (HSA): Flexible health dollars for you to use on the care that matters most to you.
- An Unmatched Reputation: You will be walking into accounts backed by a 40-year legacy of excellent service and world-class global suppliers.
