Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Apprentice Mechanic to join our automotive service team. This entry-level position offers hands-on experience in vehicle repair and maintenance, providing a valuable foundation for a career in automotive mechanics. The Apprentice Mechanic will work closely with experienced technicians to develop essential skills in diagnostics, repair, and customer service within a professional dealership environment.
Duties
- Assist with diagnosing mechanical issues using schematics and diagnostic tools
- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire rotations, and fluid checks
- Use hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment to repair and assemble vehicle components
- Support the repair of engines, transmissions, brakes, and other automotive systems
- Follow safety protocols during heavy lifting and when working with heavy machinery or parts
- Read and interpret schematics to facilitate proper repairs and assembly
- Contribute to vehicle inspections ensuring compliance with safety standards
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to promote safety and efficiency
- Collaborate with team members to complete repairs efficiently while providing excellent customer service
Qualifications
- Basic mechanical knowledge with an interest in automotive repair
- Experience or familiarity with dealership operations is a plus
- Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, and perform welding tasks effectively
- Willingness to learn about schematics, assembly processes, and maintenance procedures
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and work in various positions for extended periods
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety standards
- Prior mechanic experience or technical training is advantageous but not required
- Excellent communication skills for effective teamwork and customer interactions
