Position Overview
We are currently seeking an experienced Class 1 Heavy Equipment Hauler to join our trucking division. This position is ideal for a safety-conscious, dependable professional with proven experience transporting heavy construction equipment throughout Edmonton and surrounding areas.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely load, secure, transport and unload heavy construction equipment using lowboy and flat deck trailers
- Operate assigned truck and trailer in accordance with all company policies, transportation regulations, and safety standards.
- Perform thorough pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections
- Complete daily vehicle inspections, including checking fluid levels and inspecting for leaks, damage, or mechanical concerns
- Report maintenance or repair requirements promptly to the supervisor
- Complete all required daily safety documentation accurately and on time
- Communicate with dispatch to coordinate daily work assignments and delivery schedules
- Operate safely in various weather and road conditions
- Maintain assigned equipment in a clean, safe, and serviceable condition
Qualifications
- Valid Class 1 Driver's License with Air Brake (Q) endorsement
- Minimum 2 years of experience hauling heavy construction equipment
- Demonstrated experience loading, unloading, securing, and transporting heavy equipment on lowboy trailers
- Experience operating flat deck trailers
- Clean 5-year driver's abstract with no license suspensions
- Current CSTS 2020 certification
- Experience performing comprehensive pre-trip inspections
- Strong knowledge of Edmonton and surrounding areas
- Ability to work independently while maintaining communication with dispatch and supervisors
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Able to work weekends when required is a must
