As a Building Maintenance Technician, you will:
- Perform general repairs and maintenance in condominium common areas.
- Complete minor plumbing repairs such as faucets, toilets and shut-off valves.
- Perform basic electrical work where permitted by regulation, including replacing switches, receptacles and lighting fixtures.
- Repair and adjust doors, locks, closers and hardware.
- Program and troubleshoot intercom, access control and keypad systems.
- Complete drywall repairs, painting, caulking and general finishing work.
- Carry out seasonal maintenance and preventative inspections.
- Assist with annual fire alarm testing and contractor coordination.
- Complete work orders using Buildium on a mobile device.
- Track time accurately and document completed work with photos and detailed notes.
- Identify preventative maintenance opportunities and report larger repair recommendations.
- Maintain a clean, organized company vehicle and inventory of tools and supplies.
- Provide courteous, professional service while interacting with residents, board members, contractors and property managers.
We're looking for someone who has:
- Minimum three years of commercial or multi-family building maintenance experience.
- Strong general maintenance skills across multiple trades.
- Experience with door hardware, building systems and common area maintenance.
- Comfortable using smartphones and mobile work order software.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Valid Manitoba Class 5 driver's licence with a satisfactory driver's abstract.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical work throughout the day.
Experience with any of the following would be considered an asset:
- Condominium or commercial property maintenance
- Access control or intercom systems
- Fire alarm inspections and testing support
- WHMIS Certification
- First Aid/CPR Certification
- Small equipment operation
Pay: $25.00-$30.00 per hour
