Position Overview
We are seeking a reliable, skilled, and motivated Maintenance Technician to join our growing team in London, Ontario. The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and experienced in residential maintenance, renovations, and general repair work. This role is essential in ensuring our properties remain safe, functional, and well-maintained for tenants and investors.
Key Responsibilities
1. General Maintenance & Repairs
· Complete assigned maintenance requests efficiently and professionally
· Perform drywall repairs, patching, painting, caulking, and finishing work
· Repair and replace doors, locks, trim, hardware, and closet systems
· Troubleshoot and complete minor repairs involving plumbing, electrical, appliances, and general building maintenance
· Assist with building system shutdowns and preventative maintenance tasks
· Maintain tools, equipment, and inventory in safe working condition
· Monitor material usage and notify management when supplies require replenishment
· Support seasonal exterior maintenance, landscaping, and curb appeal initiatives as required
2. Unit Turnovers & Renovations
· Complete full and partial apartment renovations and turnover projects
· Remove and install flooring including vinyl plank, carpet, and tile
· Conduct drywall installation, repair, sanding, priming, and painting
· Install and replace cabinetry, countertops, sinks, vanities, fixtures, and hardware
· Assist with appliance installations and basic plumbing connections
· Ensure renovation projects are completed on schedule and work areas remain clean, organized, and free of debris
· Prepare vacant units for new tenant occupancy according to company standards
3. Emergency Response & On-Call Support
· Participate in occasional on-call rotations during evenings, weekends, or staff shortages as required
· Respond promptly to urgent maintenance issues to minimize tenant disruption and property damage
· Assist with emergency situations including fire alarms, floods, lockouts, power outages, and safety-related incidents
· Secure buildings and vacant units when necessary
· Accurately document emergency calls, repairs completed, and follow-up actions taken
4. Communication & Reporting
· Maintain professional communication with tenants, property managers, vendors, and team members
· Document maintenance activities, tenant interactions, inspections, and completed work orders within company systems
· Report major maintenance concerns, safety hazards, or repair recommendations to management in a timely manner
· Collaborate with team members to prioritize work orders and ensure efficient operations
Qualifications & Skills
· Minimum 2 years of experience in residential maintenance, renovations, or a similar role
· Strong working knowledge of general carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and drywall repair
· Experience using power tools and maintenance equipment safely
· Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively
· Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
· Comfortable using smartphones, apps, email, and digital work order systems
· Valid Class G driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract
· Ability to lift heavy materials and perform physically demanding tasks
· Availability for occasional after-hours or emergency response work
