Purcell Collegiate School is a growing private school with a hockey academy, a preschool, and a boarding program — a genuinely complex operation that runs on tuition revenue and demands the same financial rigor as any private enterprise. As the school scales toward 100 students and beyond, it needs a financial leader who can build the systems, policies, and discipline that will carry it there.
This is a fractional engagement to start — structured to attract the right person at the right stage of their career.
We are open to two very different profiles: a senior finance professional looking to wind down their practice while continuing to do meaningful, high-impact work; or an experienced CPA earlier in their career who is scaling their capacity and wants long-term involvement in something they can help build from the ground up. Both paths lead to the same place: a school with real financial integrity and the systems to sustain it. If you feel you are a good fit and fall outside those goal posts, we would still love to talk further.
Key Responsibilities

- Support the development of tuition pricing strategy, enrolment revenue modelling, and financial sustainability planning
- Identify financial risks and opportunities, and provide clear recommendations to leadership
- Participate in leadership team discussions where financial context is required
Transition & Succession Planning
- Build financial systems and documentation that are transferable and scalable, with the long-term goal of supporting a seamless handover or role expansion
- As the school grows, contribute to defining the scope and profile of a permanent full-time finance function
- Mentor or support a junior finance resource if and when the school’s scale warrants it
