The Role: Conterra Industries is looking for a Blaster to join our team. The primary role of this person will be blasting equipment for powder coating, with a secondary role in assisting with assembly of products. This is an entry level position and perfect for someone looking to build a career in Strathmore. There is opportunity to learn the entire process of what Conterra does from blasting to powder coating and the assembly of product, with exposure to our laser table, break, fabrication and welding. The successful applicant must be hard‐working and willing to learn. Mechanical knowledge is an asset.
What an Assembly Technician does:
- Blast steel and prepare for powder coating
- Assist with loading parts for power coating
- Assist with assembly of products from putting bristles on spindles to assembling hydraulic systems.
- Assist with performing routine maintenance on assembly tools and equipment
- Collaborate with team members to improve blast process
- Ensure a clean and organized work environment
- Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies
- Meet production targets and deadlines
- Report any issues or defects to supervisors
- OPTIONAL: Drive Truck with 30Ft Flat Deck Trailer for pick up and delivery of products
Blaster / Assembly Technician Qualifications & Skills - Conterra is willing to train the right person:
- Familiarity with basic hand and power tools
Clean Class 5 Drivers License is required. You will be asked for a drivers abstract.
- Good physical condition – this is a physical role
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Problem-solving abilities
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to stand for long periods, manual dexterity and physical stamina
- Basic math skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong work ethic and reliability
Education / Experience:
- Minimum High school diploma or equivalent
- Mechanical Knowledge - benefit
Job Type: Full‐time / Hourly – hours of operation Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30pm, although some weekends may be required.
