We are currently seeking a Journeyperson Truck & Transport Technician to join our team. The successful applicant must be focused, driven, and able to work in a team environment; be self-motivated and have a genuine desire to get the job done in a professional, efficient and accurate manner.
Key Responsibilities:
- Making repairs to fleet vehicles, including (but not limited to) repairing diesel engines, alignments, suspension, hydraulics, transmissions, and electrical systems
- Diagnosing failures of vehicles and disassembling, repairing and reassembly parts as necessary
- Performing routine maintenance such as changing oil, checking batteries and lubricating equipment and machinery
- Inspecting brake systems, steering mechanisms, wheel bearings, and other vital parts to ensure that they are in proper operating condition
- Inspecting, repairing and maintaining refrigeration systems
- Filling out and submitting all required documents in an accurate and timely manner
- Help to maintain a safe working environment
Requirements:
- Completion of college/CEGEP/vocational or technical training with Red Seal Truck and Transport License required
- Hydraulics experience/certifications considered an asset
- Knowledge of truck and equipment safety
- Knowledge of equipment maintenance and storage procedures
- Knowledge of workplace safety requirements and procedure
- Knowledge of equipment cleaning standards and procedures
