The General Labour Summer Student position is located in Meaford at the Army Training Centre - Central and typically reports directly to the Road and Grounds Manager. Their primary focus of this position will be to provide support to our Roads & Grounds section.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform general Roads & Grounds duties including groundskeeping, maintenance, and outdoor labour- Operate various pieces of equipment (string trimmers, edger, mowers) associated with groundskeeping
- Working outdoors in various weather conditions; complete physically demanding work
- Support supply-related activities such as inventory organization, receiving, and distribution of materials
- Assist with administrative tasks including basic data entry, filing, and documentation support
- Additional duties may also be assigned to support site operations

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS
- Possess a valid class ‘G' driver's license
- Physical work including, but not limited to, lifting, pulling, pushing and carrying heavy objects
- Must possess serviceable steel toe safety boots that meet standards for workplace safety
- Must be able to achieve and maintain a Government of Canada Security Clearance
